Path of Exile 2 Crosses 1 Million Early Access Redemptions, Director Warns of Launch Queues

Grinding Gear Games is preparing to launch Path of Exile 2 into early access today at 11 AM PST, and thus far, it’s surpassed expectations. Game director Jonathan Rogers revealed that the action RPG has already crossed one million key redemptions, and sales are still rising. While the success is good, he confirmed that the team was unprepared for such demand.

The launch weekend will likely see queues for players since GGG initially prepared server capacity for one million players. Though it’s since ordered additional cloud capacity, Rogers says, “We don&#Sports Betting8217;t know what our backend services are going to be able to handle as we go above a million users.

“Now we’ve added more database shards, scaling everything we have up as far as it’ll go. But we’re really not sure what kind of limits we might hit.” Regardless, he’s thankful for the response and promised that the team will work hard to address any server issues that may occur.

Path of Exile 2 early access will be available for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, with supporter packs starting at $29.99. It will include three Acts, six Classes (each having two Ascendancies), 400 monster types, and 50 bosses. There will also be tons of Skills to try out, Support Gems to customize them, and the Atlas of Worlds end-game.
