Wigan manager Roberto Martinez says the club are not under any pressure to sell goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi, with Liverpool reportedly circling.
Al-Habsi has been linked with a move to Anfield following a drop in form by Spaniard Pepe Reina.
Martinez believes the rumours are a big compliment to his first-choice shot-stopper but stressed Wigan have no need to sell anyone.
We re in a good moment financially. We don t have to sell players and that s a real strength of ours, the Spaniard told reporters.
It s a really nice compliment for Ali and he s been outstanding since coming to the football club.
We have a few players who are reaching a very good level of form and I m not against having a lot of good football compliments.
Wigan have sold several key players in big-money moves over recent seasons, most notably Antonio Valencia to Manchester United in 2009/10 and Victor Moses to Chelsea in the previous off-season, for a reported combined total of 27 million pounds.
