Van Dijk happy to recommend De Ligt if Liverpool ask

Virgil van Dijk would give his Netherlands defensive partner Matthijs de Ligt a glowing reference should Liverpool want to add him to Jurgen Klopp s squad.

De Ligt s reputation has gone from strength to strength since making his Ajax debut in 2016 and establishing himself at the heart of the club s defence.

A first international call-up followed last year and this season De Ligt has been linked with a string of Europe s top clubs – with Barcelona said to be at the front of the queue.

Paris-Saint Germain, Inter and Liverpool have also been named as potential destinations for the 19-year-old, who is contracted with Ajax until 2021.

Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman expects the teenager to leave the Eredivisie in the near future but Van Dijk has yet to be ask…

Ramos insists Mbappe is ´happy every day´ at Paris Saint-Germain

Sergio Ramos refuted speculation Kylian Mbappe wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain as he claimed the forward is happy every day .

Mbappe started in the Champions League against Benfica on Tuesday after reports emerged the France international wants to depart the club in January, despite turning down Real Madrid to sign a new, lucrative three-year contract with PSG in May.

PSG football advisor Luis Campos insisted the 23-year-old has not expressed such intentions to the club, and Mbappe was in the thick of the action on the pitch in Paris.

Mbappe became PSG s all-time top scorer in the Champions League with a first-half penalty before Joao Mario s spot-kick restored parity, with the match petering out to a draw, with both sides sitting on eight points at the top of…

Tottenham players are a gift – Mourinho insists he does not need signings

Jose Mourinho insists he is completely happy with his Tottenham squad and does not feel the need to delve into the transfer market.

Mourinho signed a three-and-a-half-year contract as Spurs new head coach on Wednesday as last season s Champions League finalists moved quickly following the shock sacking of Mauricio Pochettino.

Intrigue over how Mourinho s relationship with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy might play out has dominated the initial analysis of the appointment.

Throughout his decorated career, the former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United boss has frequently clashed with his boards over transfer policy.

Levy has a reputation for dealing cautiously in the market and, although Spurs broke their transfer record to bring in Tanguy Ndombele d…

Nasri: Nationality counts against Toure

Samir Nasri believes team-mate Yaya Toure would be seen as the best midfielder in the world if he was Brazilian or Argentinian.

Ivory Coast international Toure has been the driving force in Manchester City s engine room since his move from Barcelona in 2010, and his wonder-strike set Manuel Pellegrini s men en route to League Cup glory against Sunderland on Sunday.

And City playmaker Nasri, who followed Toure s 55th-minute equaliser at Wembley with a sublime finish of his own 90 seconds later, feels the 30-year-old suffers in terms of gaining global recognition due to his nationality.

If he wasn t African everyone will say he s the best midfielder in the world, the Frenchman said.

Of course it counts against him being from Ivory Coast. If he was Argentinian or …

Fulham continue legal battle against EPL chief

Fulham are set to take their legal action against Premier League chairman Sir Dave Richards to the Court of Appeal.

The Cottagers have alleged Richards scuppered their bid to sign England striker Peter Crouch back in July 2009.

Wednesday saw the High Court issue a ruling stopping Fulham s legal action against Richards and the Premier League, urging them to pursue private arbitration in a bid to resolve the matter.

But Fulham were also given leave to appeal against the verdict and a statement issued by the London club later Wednesday made it clear they would contest the ruling.

Although it ruled that Fulham must pursue its complaints by way of private arbitration under the Premier League and Football Association rules, the High Court also gave Fulham per…

Torino agree Nocerino loan

Antonio Nocerino will once again spend time away from Milan on loan next season after Torino agreed a deal for the midfielder.

The 29-year-old only returned to San Siro at the end of last season having made 10 appearances for West Ham in the Premier League, and it may be some time before he pulls on the Milan shirt again.

With competition for places high in midfield, Nocerino has been deemed surplus to requirements by new head coach Filippo Inzaghi, and Torino have moved quickly to secure his signature.

His temporary move to Turin was confirmed on Torino s official website on Wednesday, although no details regarding the length of the loan were disclosed.

Nocerino has gradually fallen out of favour at Milan since his move from Palermo in 2011.

Giroud targeted by Inter and Atletico Madrid

Olivier Giroud is not playing much at Chelsea and he wants to change that. While it remains clear that Frank Lampard does not trust him enough to become his first-choice striker, the Frenchman is eager to make a move during the upcoming January transfer window.

The reason for that is that the world champion from 2018 wants to play regularly in the buildup to the Euro 2020 and get the callup from France national team coach Didier Deschamps. For that, it appears, he would have to change the club and according to Football London, Giroud is being targeted by Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid.

Frank Lampard clearly prefers Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi up front at Chelsea and Giroud could go to either Italy or Spain in search of a chance to play. Also, this could all be he…

Everton complete Doucoure transfer

Everton have confirmed the signing of midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti has been busy in the transfer market over the past week, with James Rodriguez and Allan also joining the Merseyside club.

Doucoure has become the latest addition to Ancelotti s squad, as the Italian boss looks to improve on last season s 12th-placed finish.

The 27-year-old French player has signed a three-year contract at Goodison Park, with the club holding an option for a fourth season, joining for a reported fee of £20million plus add-ons.

Doucoure made 37 league appearances for Watford in 2019-20, scoring four goals, though he could not help the Hornets avoid relegation to the Championship.

 And another one Bienvenue, !
