Chiellini ´convinced´ Allegri can reclaim Scudetto for Juventus

Giorgio Chiellini is convinced Massimiliano Allegri is the right man to reclaim the Scudetto for Juventus following the failed Andrea Pirlo experiment.

Celebrated former midfielder Pirlo failed to guide the Bianconeri to a 10th successive Serie A title last season and was sacked in May, before the halfway point of a two-year deal.

Allegri was named as Pirlo s successor on the same day for a second spell in charge, having previously guided Juve to five league titles, four Coppas Italia and two Champions League finals.

Juve amassed 142 wins in their 190 league games under Allegri – only Giovanni Trapattoni has overseen more matches – giving him a win percentage of 74.74, clear of second-placed Antonio Conte (72.81), who managed 83 triumphs from 114 matches.<…

Moyes previously guided West Ham to Premier League safety in the 2017-18 season but his contract was not renewed, the London side instead opting to turn to Pellegrini.

But the Scotsman, who confirmed Alan Irvine will again be part of his backroom team, believes things will be different this time around.

There is a clause in my contract to extend the deal, said Moyes.  I m going to make it impossible that that clause can t be activated. It s up to the players to make sure of that now.<…

Vini, vidi, vici? Vinicius Junior emerging at last as Real Madrid´s next superstar

I am not a magician, said Carlo Ancelotti. Just a coach who has to give players the confidence they need to express their qualities.

The Real Madrid boss was talking about arguably the standout player from Los Blancos strong start to the season – and, brilliant as he continues to be, it s not Karim Benzema.

When Ancelotti spoke before Madrid s 2-1 win at Valencia, Vinicius Junior was on a run of four goals in as many games in LaLiga. That tally reached five in five after he fired in a late equaliser at Mestalla – as many goals as he had scored in 59 previous league matches.

For attacking players, nothing builds belief like the support of a coach and regularly sticking the ball in the net. Vinicius has both of those things going for him right now, and it …

Brendan Rodgers targets success even if the numbers do not add up for away fans

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has called for a minimum percentage of away supporters to be enshrined in league rules as he prepares to take his team to what will be an even more hostile atmosphere inside Tynecastle.

Celtic will have 576 fans in attendance for Sunday’s game against Hearts with the home club keen to get more of their own supporters inside the ground following rising demand for tickets in recent years.

The allocation is less than half of what Celtic received in their previous visit and a continuation of a trend.

Rodgers was used to seeing the Roseburn Stand half full of Celtic supporters in his first spell in charge, which included his first domestic game as manager and the game where his side clinched his first title. But previously Celtic fans …
